The Frenzied SLPs are excited to announce new discussions, twice a month, designed to help you share your ideas and become #SLPStrong! This week, we are talking about The Best Thing I Learned This Summer! Thank you SLP Runner!
Ahโฆthe Cinderella movie. Did
you see it earlier this summer? I took my 2 boys (they may or may not have
liked it). Who wouldnโt want to
get all fancied up by a fairy Godmother and be pursued by a handsome prince? Moment of silence for how we all dreamed that would happenโฆok.

But, Cinderella did teach me
something. โHave Courage and Be Kind.โ
something. โHave Courage and Be Kind.โ
Did you catch that? There is something
so simple in that message that you can miss it. For some reason it resonated
with me as I began this summer thinking about starting this very blog. Do I
really have time for a blog? How do I even start or write a blog? Who would
really want to read what I have to say? What do I have to bring to the table
that hasnโt already been written about? What I was really struggling
with was, โDo I really matter?โ

Have you ever wondered that?
What do I have to contribute?
What do I have to contribute?
So, I decided to follow
Cinderellaโs advice, pull up my big-girl britches, and choose to not let my
fears stand in my way.

fears stand in my way.
And what did I find? I found
that I donโt have to know everything up front to get started. I found that itโs
ok to make mistakes- just expect to. Donโt be embarrassed about your mess-ups;
just be REAL with people. Another cool thing, maybe a little surprising, that I
learned is how KIND other bloggers are- they want to help you and they will. There IS room at the table for me.

is, a time for learning, having courage, and appreciating how kind people are.
Is there something that has
been holding you back out of fear? If so, think of Cinderella and have courage. Where there is kindness there is goodness. Where there is goodness there is magic.

Loved the movie, loved the quote, love your blog!
All Yโall Need
Thanks for stopping by Laura! I appreciate the support.
Welcome to the blogging world! I am still constantly learning new things, and it has been almost three years! I haven't seen the Cinderella movie yet (my boys wouldn't go), but will have to check it out when I have some girl only time!
Thanks Jen- that is good to know…I guess we are always learning!
Awesome! I notice in your bio, "I love Jesus!" Then you also know you matter for your significance comes from Him, but you've taken a risk exposing yourself in social media. If you say one thing that impacts just one person, then you have succeeded. So let's start right here: you have affirmed for me that I am not alone in my fears. Great post!
Thank you Annie! Yes, Jesus is ALL the strength I need. Cinderella reminded me of that. I appreciate having sisters in Christ in the SLP world. Thanks for stopping by my new blog.
EEEEK!! WAy to keep it real, Ashley! Of course you matter!! (but believe me we have all had that VERY same doubt) and there's DEFINITELY room at the table for you!! I'm so glad you put your big girl panties on and did it. I can't wait to read what you write next. Also, I just have to say I had a blast hanging out with you, and can't wait to do it again! xo
I love you Mia!!!! Thanks for your kind words. Looking forward to hanging with you in Vegas again!
OH BTW your blog is so southern chic!!! Just perfection.
Great job with your blog and post- both are wonderful!
Thanks for the support! I appreciate it!
I've really struggled with the whole "Do I really matter" question this summer. You're off to a fantastic start! It doesn't matter if something has been discussed/written before…bring your own spin on it!
