About

Hi there! I was born and raised in Tennessee. I love all things southern…nothing better than sweet tea and the SEC! You will find me cheering GoVOLS on Saturdays in the fall. I love diet coke, coffee, guac, and cupcakes…just not all at the same time. Most importantly is my faith in Jesus Christ. How else would I survive this crazy world?!

After living for 12 years in Dallas, Texas, we now have moved to Atlanta, Georgia! It’s definitely a mixed blessing. We miss our life in the Big D, but we are closer to family and that makes me so happy. I’m also closer to the beach – that also makes me happy! My husband and I are crazy busy raising our 2 boys. I am a boy-mom, no doubt. My afternoons and weekends are filled with watching grass-stained, sweaty boys in one sport or activity after another! I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love being a speech therapist. I decided in middle school this is what I wanted to do after watching a movie about a boy who stuttered. That decision was solidified in college when my uncle suffered a traumatic brain injury. Watching his therapist give him back the ability to communicate was inspiring.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a vast population in numerous settings through my journey as an SLP. From pediatrics with feeding issues to the elderly with dementia, it has all helped shape the therapist I am today.

I now work in a private practice serving a school-based population. I am fortunate to be at the same school as my boys.

I hope you love books because I’m passionate about literacy-based speech therapy. Give me a goal and I can show you a book that you can use.

I have a Teachers Pay Teachers store where I create resources for other SLPs.

Welcome to my little space! -Ashley
