deep-dive-into-bear-finds-eggs

We love finding and introducing books to our students that we know they’ll enjoy during their speech therapy sessions, and we love sharing our discoveries with you all as well! As spring is upon us and Easter isn’t too far away, we’re excited to introduce a newly released book, Bear Finds Eggs. Being part of the Bear series by Karma Wilson, this adorable book hits all the criteria – it engages students and hits the key teaching points we look for when using a book in speech therapy. So, in today’s episode, we want to do a deep dive into Bear Finds Eggs, where we introduce you to this book and share how to best use it with your students.

During our deep dive episodes, we show you how we select books and pull out all of the key teaching points that support the speech and language goals of your students. In Bear Finds Eggs, we highlight the areas that would mostly benefit your students, such as vocabulary, sequencing, story grammar, and character analysis. Of course, there are many more key teaching points, but with these specific concepts, we provide examples directly from the text to help teach your students. We absolutely love this book and hope that after this deep dive into Bear Finds Eggs, you, too, will purchase this book and use it during your speech therapy sessions!

Topics Discussed:

  • Our process for selecting Bear Finds Eggs and all the relevant speech and language goals you could use
  • The key teaching points that are highlighted in this book
  • Examples from the book that you can use directly with your students to develop their skills
  • A list of predicting questions to ask your students, along with mentor sentences that will help with grammar concepts
