This or That: Using The Mitten and A Thing Called Snow in Speech Therapy – Episode 33

As you know, there are a lot of winter themed picture books to choose from, so it can be overwhelming to pick the ones that will benefit your students and target their speech and language goals. So instead of spending your time discerning which books are right for your speech therapy, we decided to do that for you. In another round of our this or that episode, we’re showing you our process for selecting books to use during your speech therapy sessions. The two books we are covering today are The Mitten and A Thing Called Snow. 

At first glance, we encourage you to pick books that are complete episodes, engaging, and target key concepts. The Mitten and A Thing Called Snow are two very different books. One is more popular and used in elementary classrooms during this holiday season, while the other is new, but one you should definitely add to your personal library.
