Dive into Wendi Silvano’s Turkey Series for Speech Therapy – Episode 67

We love it when we can find a series by a specific author that meets all of our key concepts, speech sounds, and language goals to use with our students during speech therapy sessions. And one series we can’t stop using with our students is Wendi Silvano’s Turkey series. One of the things we enjoy most about this series is that all of her books are written with a different focused theme so that you can use them throughout the school year. In today’s episode, we’re diving into Wendi Silvano’s Turkey series and highlighting the different key concepts in each book and what they all have in common.

As an overview, Wendi has written seven books in the Turkey series, with a new book coming out on September 10 called Turkey’s Birthday Bash. One reason we love this series is the consistency of each book as it pertains to targeting key concepts. In the first part of this episode, we are sharing highlights from the series as a whole while also providing specific examples from the books. This includes vocabulary, characters, plot, predicting, repeated phrases, and speech sounds. We then wrap up with an overview of each of the seven books in the series and share the unique concepts that are displayed in each book.
